03       CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES

CONSENSUS:

 

That the Minutes of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Sports Council Meeting held on 23 July 2024 be amended to reflect the attendance of Hastings Valley Netball Association (Linda Dewbery) at the last meeting.

06       Port Macquarie-Hastings Sports Council - Future Dates

CONSENSUS:

 

The Port Macquarie-Hastings Sports Council adopted the following meetings dates for 2025 commencing at 4.00pm:

•    Tuesday 25 February 2025

•    Tuesday 27 May 2025

•    Tuesday 26 August 2025

•    Tuesday 25 November 2025

 

 

07       Sporting Events Calendar

CONSENSUS:

 

The Port Macquarie-Hastings Sports Council noted the Sporting Calendar for upcoming events from 01 November to 31 January 2025.

 

 

08       Sporting Communication Plan

CONSENSUS:

 

The Port Macquarie-Hastings Sports Council noted the information in this report.

 

 

09       Proposed Sporting Fees and Charges 2025/2026

CONSENSUS:

 

The Port Macquarie-Hastings Sports Council discussed the proposed sporting fees for 2025/2026

 

 

10       Standing Item: Request for Project Upgrades

CONSENSUS:

 

The Port Macquarie-Hastings Sports Council noted the discussion below:

·           Cricket NSW raised concerns about the proposed works and the impact on field availability.

·           AFL North Coast noted the need for additional storage space at Wayne Richards Park.

·           Council would provide support for sporting grounds to seek grant funding for perimeter fencing at Wayne Richards Park

·           Port Macquarie Little Athletics requested the consideration of a canteen at Stuart Park.

·           Port Macquarie Hockey Association advised that the top field of the hockey fields is nearing the end of its life and does not meet compliance standards..

 

 

11       Standing Item: Opportunities for optimising activation of Recreation Spaces

CONSENSUS:

 

The Port Macquarie-Hastings Sports Council reviewed and discussed opportunities to enhance the use of recreational spaces, as outlined below:

·           The Port Macquarie Hockey Association expressed interest in introducing beach volleyball within the Local Government Area.

·           The Netball Association indicated an interest to hold pre-season games in Port Macquarie.
